Superficial Dorsal Nerves

This is a superficial dissection of the dorsal aspect of the foot.  The skin incision is made to reveal the dorsal medial and dorsal intermediate cutaneus nerves.

Extensor Digitorum Longus

This is the second layer in the dissection series, in which the extensor digitorum longus tendon is demosntrated

Extensor Digitorum Brevis

This is the second layer in the dissection series, in which the extensor digitorum and extensor hallucis brevis muscles are shown.

Deep Neurovascular Layer

This frame demonstrates the deeper neurovascular bundle to include the deep peroneal nerve and the first dorsal metatarsal arterial branch of dorsalis pedis.

Interossei

This dissection layer demonstrates the interossei muscles in the forefoot.

Periostium 1

This image layer demonstrates the dorsal periostial layer of the midtarsal bones, which must be dissected or elevated away from Lis Franc's joint in order to perform the fusion procedure.

Periostium 2

This image layer demonstrates the dorsal periostial layer of the midtarsal bones, which must be dissected or elevated away from Lis Franc's joint in order to perform the fusion procedure.  In this, the first incision is made over the dorsal aspect of the 2nd metatarsal cuneiform joint.

Periostium 3

This image layer demonstrates the dorsal periostial layer of the midtarsal bones, which must be dissected or elevated away from Lis Franc's joint in order to perform the fusion procedure.  In this, the image demonstrates the incision carried laterally across the remaining articulations of Lis Franc's joint to include the metatarsal cunieform and cubiod joints.
